Terms

Last updated: 18 October 2026

These are the rules for using CoasterLog. By creating an account you agree to them. They're written to be read, so please do.

Who we are

CoasterLog is a free logbook for roller coaster riders, run by Ollie H in the UK ("we", "us"). Contact: privacy@ollieh.dev.

Your account

  • You must be 16 or over to use CoasterLog.
  • One account per person. Give a real email address you can get messages at.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else has got in, reset your password. That signs you out everywhere.

Your content

Your log, rankings, notes, bio and photo are yours. You give us permission to store them and show them as your settings allow: to you only, or on your public profile. That permission ends when you delete them or your account.

Don't post anything that's illegal, hateful, harassing or someone else's without permission. That includes photos and usernames. We may remove content that breaks these rules.

Using CoasterLog fairly

Please don't:

  • copy the catalogue or other riders' profiles in bulk, scrape the site, or use bots or scripts to access it
  • try to get into accounts or parts of the system that aren't yours, or test our security without asking first
  • overload, disrupt or reverse-engineer the service
  • pretend to be someone else, or use CoasterLog to spam or mislead people

The coaster data

Coaster and park details come from Coasterpedia, under the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence, and are updated regularly. It's community-written, so it can be incomplete or wrong. Don't rely on it for anything important, like opening times, height limits or whether a ride is open. Check with the park.

And please don't use your phone on a ride. Log it when you're back on the ground.

A free service

CoasterLog is free and run by one person. We'll do our best to keep it running and your data safe, but it's provided "as is". There may be downtime, bugs, or features that change or go away.

If we ever decide to close CoasterLog, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice so you can download your data.

Ending things

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account.

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you why first and give you a chance to fix it.

Liability

As CoasterLog is free, we're not liable for indirect losses, or for losing data you haven't exported. We're also not liable for problems caused by things outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as CoasterLog changes. For significant changes, we'll let you know by email or in the app before they apply. If you keep using CoasterLog after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If there's a dispute, the courts of England and Wales can hear it, but if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also use your local courts.

How we handle your data is covered in our Privacy notice.
